Our Security Watermark

Many Document Management systems give users rights to a document based upon their security level. The most common digital right management includes the ability to allow or prevent certain users from editing, viewing, or printing the document they are viewing.

However, being able to preventing printing is a false sense of security, because the user can still take a screenshot of the page and then print the screen shot. This makes printing whole document cumbersome but not impossible.

Some document management programs claim to prevent a user from taking a screen shot while viewing a document, however, this is, again, misleading. An entire industry has been created to allow users to bypass digital rights management. Programs like Snag It or !Quick allow users to bypass these security measures.

Our key security feature for unauthorized printing is much more secure. If you don't want a user to print a document, we recommend using our confidential watermark feature.

This security feature places a watermark on each page of the document that you want protected. This watermark includes the user's actual name, login ID, computer IP address, and the exact date and time the document was opened.

This feature is available on .pdf files.
